for Smitha Ramchandani, a salesperson with Weichert Realtors’ Morristown

Smitha was a successful business owner in India, her country of
origin. When she moved to the United States to be with her husband,
she knew that she needed to be in a field that allowed her to use her own
initiative and that would give her the freedom to advance as far as
possible. Used to working hard to get her own results, Smitha choose
real estate because she wanted to dictate her own working hours and
income. Smitha said, "I wanted to have a successful career, but
still have enough time to spend with my family." Smitha has two
young children, Simrin, 5 years old and Rhea, 3.5 years old. Diligent
and industrious, Smitha earned her real estate license and went to work.
Smitha has always capitalized on new advances in
technology. “I was the very
first one in my area to create a personal Website, when the Internet was
just taking off.” Her
extensive Website features a monthly newsletter with current market updates
and industry news, neighborhood and relocation information for buyers and
up-to-the minute listings. Smitha says that even though her Website has allowed her to
attract more business, it hasn't changed the individual attention she gives
each customer. Trustworthiness is still her greatest tool. "Customers
want a salesperson they can trust and respect," she says. A dedicated professional, Smitha puts in a lot of hours. She
estimates she works an average of 50-70 hours per week.
Smitha also finds it personally rewarding to stay involved in her community.
Not only does she meet new people and network this way, but also she feels a
sense of satisfaction in contributing to her neighborhood and charity
organizations. She volunteers with the American Cancer Society and the
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, as well as participating in the Annual Weichert
